Paul Washer: Be a Man

American Airlines Center Dallas Texas

A few pics from this weekends evangelism thanks to Jon Speed who brought his camera. On the left is one of my new friends in Christ Tim Crawford and his son Tristen. Tristen is passing out tracts (doing the hard work while Tim looks on.) On the right you see me talking to Eric Molina who was obviously pricked in his conscience so much he came back to talk to me about 10 minutes later. Overall we might have talked about 20 minutes or more. Praise the Lord for opportunities He provides. I hear people say: I pray that the Lord brings people in my life so I can witness, all the while they sit on there butts doing whatever, thinking the door bell will ring, they will bump into someone magically at the grocery store, or my favorite, "my actions will show that I am a Chistian and they will notice". What is that all about? I guess it must be the halo the sinner notices around their heads. I noticed I don't have one yet. Hey maybe the picture below is the start of one. Do you see it?
Rom 12:3
For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.

There were waves and waves of people coming down the corridor below to attend the VH concert. If you look closely Tim is in the midst of the late comers. Do you see on the right the man shaking the old mans hand with two hands as though the old man is the king of some kingdom. I think he must be a DJ for one of the radio stations in Dallas. It goes to show what prominince some people put on others just because you can hear their voice over the airwaves.
Now let me give praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who allows men like us to proclaim the Gospel.
He doesn't need us at all. He is God, Jesus Christ, can send his spirit as the wind blows to claim those whom God has given Him. Again, without our help. He chose weak vessels to proclaim
His Word. The same word that holds all things together, allows us breath, sight, and love for His word. Praise His holy name.

Saturday night we will be at the the “Mystiqal” Mardi Gras parade and festival at the same place we were in these pictures.
Mat 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' Mat 24:10 "At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. There were many people there claiming to be christians. How many more don't care about the perishing. They need the Gospel and who will give it to them. THE MANY?

Van Halen Who?

The only reason I am showing these slaves to sin is because we went to the their concert to wittness last night. Last time I saw these old men I attended their concert and I was a slave to sin. Frozen in time like fossils telling their story of how it was or the way it used to be. The same songs the same sound the same men, sort of and the same message of NO GOD except their own god.
Have you noticed the cross on the t-shirt, hey maybe he's a christian eh. These guys would fit in without being noticed in most churches today. Phl 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

I met a lot of "christians" walking in to that concert with the mind set of "why not". Or how about the ones I met with hard liquor on their breath? What do you look like, what do you do with your time, what do you say with your mouth? Christ looks at the heart, I know. Few and far between are actual christians who dress like this, act like this, and say the things they say, I have not found one yet! The fruit tree here is producing worldly fruit. Christ has nothing to do with the world except that they crucified Him. Van Halen gets honor and praises from the world. Jhn 15:18 "If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before {it hated} you.
Have faith and repent, today is the day for salvation.
Act 4:12
"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."

Today's Evangelism

Here is a book I finished reading recently, "Today's Evangelism, Its Message And Methods". If you are even remotely serious in what our Lord has commanded us to do, to give the Gospel to the perishing, then this should be one of the many books on your short list.
Of course, if Scripture does not soften your heart for the lost, then no amount of human wisdom will cause you to move off your comfortable chair into the world of true evangelism. Evangelism is not inviting your friend or neighbor to church, or being a friend to someone without telling them about the Gospel, or handing out bottles of water with your churches name printed on the plastic. No, each of those things, and many others, are not doing the work of an evangelist. Evangelizing is going out into the streets, no matter where that may be, and delivering the clear message of God's Law and Grace of Jesus Christ. Romans 7:7, the middle of the verse, "I would not have come to know sin except through the Law. Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Yes, go out and proclaim the Truth of Jesus Christ where the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing and the Gospel that will be offensive. You can't do this in your comfortable pews. It's hard work. Here are a few quotes that I find worth remembering from "Today's Evangelism".

Ernest Risinger says: There are two results(1) "...he that believes and is baptized shall be saved." (2) ...he that does not believe shall be damned." Salvation is one result, and damnation is another result. Therefore, when the biblical gospel is preached, there will be results, and God will be glorified.
Another, "follow-up programs" do not do much, because as a rule there is nothing to follow up, no reality in the beginning. It is also a little hard to develop a follow-up program from the New Testament, because when the New Testament sinners were converted, there was not need for a "follow-up program." They became followers of Christ; in other words, they did the following.
And this one, "Probably the verse in the Bible that best describes the work of Christ is
Isa 42:21
The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make [it] honourable. " "This leads to a question in respect to the present-day evangelistic message...Where is the evangelistic preaching of the law?" Paul said,
Rom 3:20
because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law {comes} the knowledge of sin.

It's just a few quotes but the book can be purchased for a few dollars on ebay or buy it new and put your own notes in it. Be ready to correct your theology on evangelism. No amount of 40 days of purpose reading, praying like Jabez, leaving out words like hell, damnation from your vocabulary, telling people Jesus has a plan for your life, your heart has a Jesus shaped hole that only He can fill, or think positive thoughts qualify as the Gospel. The True saving knowledge Christ has for sinners is we all are liars, thieves, and adulterers at heart, and all these will have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone...Knowing this we should run to Christ and fall at His feet and ask for mercy. Repent and have faith in Christ alone. He is willing to save and once saved you will know the true love of God.

Side Notes From The Parade

The Lord delivered a couple more oportunities to me to present His message. One of them I will share. 2 teens in the mod type of clothing, hair swooshing over their face like they wanted, tatoos, ear rings in all the "right" places. Again they claimed to know the Gospel, they surely did not know anything close. Remember: close gets you points in horseshoes, it also gets you Hell for eternity.
I was about to start my presentation when their father walked up. I saw the puzzled look on his face. After explaining to him what I was doing, his response was "they are Christians already".
I told him I could not judge their hearts but I could plainly see the fruit dropping from their tree. I begged him to allow me 5 minutes of their time, he relented and the teens did too.
In the end after my presentation, I could tell the father appreciated all that I said. I shook their hands and told them to read the book of John.

Jhn 3:8
"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

In case you need to know how to think on this verse: We don't control the wind or where it comes from and what is being blown by it. The same is with the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit is the only one who can get a camel through the eye of a needle.

Jon's Confrontation with the Law?

Jon is in the background wearing the brown jacket passing out tracts. He has no clue Fort Worth's finest is keeping an eye on him. I know, Mr. Policeman just told me I was in the way and to move off the street where Jon where you see Jon in the Pic. Yes Jon ended up with me, off the street:
Jon is in the middle of designing a website of his own with a buddy of his. He will be entering into full time ministry after returning to Texas from Hawaii. Hard life eh! All these full time ministers tend to deserve a little break from time to time I guess. As soon as the site is available, I will post it here.

Pro 27:17
Iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens another.

No Parade Here

Here is another friend of mine the Lord put into my life. Koko is his name and lives somewhere in the downtown area where we met on the parade route. Koko is holding a tract I gave him called "Are You Good Enough to Go to Heaven?". I asked if he knew the Gospel, he said yes. Because I don't believe what anyone tells me anymore in our post-modern, emergent time we're in I asked him to explain to me what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is. After a few more words just to be sure he knew what the question was, I asked him if I could explain it to him. Koko said yes. He was very gacious to me and gave me the time I needed to clearly explain it.
I took him through the ten commandments the pointer to our righteous redeemer. Once he knew what sin was and who it was he sinned against, a Holy and Righteous Judge who demands that we live a perfect and holy life, he understood the rest. Once he knew he was a lying adultery at heart and all liars and adulterers will have their part in the lake of fire then Christ's sacrifice for our sin's made sense to him.
Again, by using the simple clear Law of God, a Savior makes sense. The perfect sinnless life of Christ now placed on us once we have faith and repent. Have faith and repent, follow Christ in all that He commands. His yoke is easy. Christ paid the penalty for all our sins past present and future.
Do you even care that Koko needs Christ? You call Christ a liar if you sit in your comfortable pew week after week and do nothing.
Mar 16:20
And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.] [{And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.} ]

Delivering The Gospel Is Exciting

Marielle, Kevin, Shawn, Cindy, Bianca Ashley, and you too Oscar :>) Thank you for listening.
Here are some more friends of mine I hope I will meet in Heaven. It was a pleasure to deliver the Gospel of Jesus Christ to each one of you.
I hope you understood that without Christ you are doomed. You are doomed without Christ because their sins can not be cleansed by doing "good things." No matter how many times you confess your sins to a priest, your sins remain. Why? Because the priest is a sinner too! He needs a Savior to wash him white as snow.
I hope you understood that you are Law breakers, transgressors of the Law, the Law of God, the Ten Commandments. And this transgression is deserving of Hell. Rev 21:8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part {will be} in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
But, I hope you understood that Christ will cleanse and wash you to make you a new creation in Him (alone). This is the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. All you need to do is repent and have faith in Him alone. Fall at His feet and embrace Him who can destroy both body and soul or give you everlasting life. From dead in trespasses and sin to life. All that is His can be yours. Leave the traditions of men behind and follow Christ.
1Cr 2:11
For who among men knows the {thoughts} of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the {thoughts} of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.
Remember: If you can't find it in the scriptures it's not what God has said.
In Him Alone!
Sola Christo!

Note: While I was talking, Anthony peeled away and started to talk to my friend John Speed. John as always was ready to answer things pertaining to the "health and wealth gospel." This is a teaching people should run from as fast as they can.

The Buddiist Monks And Choclate Chip Cookies

Last night before going to South Lake Town Square, I made a visit to my friends at the Buddist Temple.

Here is the name of the temple here in Texas. Nothing to boast about, but here in Texas is the biggest Buddist Temple in the US!

The best thing about having one this big is that I rarely talk to the same monk twice. There are other reasons for this but this is a training hub for monks and turnover is high. Living the life of a monk in training is laborious mentally and sometimes physically. One monk I spoke to said they were all on their fast ( a little juice sometimes.) After talking to him about the Gospel I gave him some choclate chip cookies. So much for the fast.

I'll start leaving updates when I visit the temple. I've been there several times, including at times they celebrate different things within their culture. Inside the temple is a life size wax figure of one of the more enlighten monks inThailand, kind of creepy I think. I will also get more pics inside the temple if I can find one of the monks to let me in.

Here on the right is one of the many signs inside the walls of the
campus.
As you can see, the Gospel is very different than the damning
beliefs of Biddism.

Pray that I always have an open door like I have now. I also need Thai tracts, and I also need to know what the tract say before I hand them out.

Mat 28:18
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Mat 28:20
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

A Few Pics From The New Year Fishing Expo

Just a few photos of the New Years Day fishing expedition.
Great way to start off the
New Year of 2008
Thank you Jon, Sam, Kevin and my Son Daniel for taking these pics.

Even Scalpers Need the Gospel; Are You Ready For the 2 Minute Gospel?

Ok, I will put one with me, yes the person who loves me the most, me. "Love your neigbor as yourself" I guess I love my neigbor, since I will go out to witness on a cold day without much sleep to talk to someone (new years day 2008) who is not really intersted in the message of the Gospel of Christ. I guess I love myself. Is this self-esteem? NOT!!! Leo is a self admitted scalper. Today it was Cotton Bowl tickets. He was suspicious of me. As soon as this pic was taken he changed his demeanor as though we were a threat to him. No threat Leo. After telling him we were witnesses of Jesus Christ, he settled down a bit.
I asked him right then if I could witness to him. He said "I don't have time", I said give me 5 minutes! He said, I'll give you 2. I'm thinking he just gave me one more minute than I needed, praise God for His exhortation,
2Ti 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season {and} out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
Christian friend, are you ready? Are you ready for the challenge of giving the Gospel to a sinner who doesn't want to hear the Message of the Gospel? Excuses? Would you say to Leo, oh! you caught me off guard, I need my Bible, this is not the right time, this is not fair, the tract will speak for me, how much are those tickets Leo?, blah blah blah. Today is the day for salvation. We don't know the number of days to live. Do it now, be ready with the answer and you might be the tool used to snatch a soul from
hell!

My Son And Kevin Doing The Job

Daniel my son met up today with his buddy Kevin Wills. Kevin is a Countrysider. He is one of the few obeying God's command to be witnesses of our Lord Jesus Christ, Saviour of those who repent and have faith in Him alone. They are standing outside the grounds of the Cotton Bowl in Texas. It was a little cold. Kevin thank you for coming out, good one. I hope you were able to get into your car alright. Keep an extra set of keys next time.

Cotton Bowl New Years Day Morning

Here is the guy with the patience of Jobadia. Who is Jobadia you ask? I think back in the book of anals in the days of yor you might be able to draw a line back to Job. Although not compared to Job but you get what I'm saying. Jon has patience. Jon Speed and Sam his girly daugther are standing in front of the Cotton Bowl. As I'm writing Mizzou is kicking the Razorback tails back to where they came.
Back to Jon. Here is the guy who gave me the tools to go out and actually do what Christ has commanded. Seek and save the lost. I think at one time he would have given me the "get out of wittnessing free" card. Thank you Jon again and again. Jon has the knowledge and passion to speak to people one on one and open air preach. Jon is a well seasoned saint of Christ. His patience I think is too patient. Instead of challenging those danky christians at our church to a blast of wax melting doctrine from a roaring furnice, he instead speaks softly using the power of God's word. Read the scripture verse, Jon uses the word of God for this reason:

Jhn 4:41
