Keith Daniel from Cape Town

Last Words about Keith Daniel
On the week of September 26-27 was Texas Revival Series II. First Baptist Church of Justin, Texas featured Keith Daniel from Cape Town, Africa, Mike Gendron from Dallas Texas, Randall Easter from Briar Texas, Mack Thomlinson from Denton Texas.
Becaause of the TRS conference Keith Daniel needed a place to stay. Jon Speed called me to ask if I would put him up during the conference and provide transportation. Ok I’m not exactly the most diplomatic person you would ever meet but, I try to be as gracious as possible. So here is Jon calling me to ask if I would keep one of the worlds most influential evangelists, a person who is obviously chosen by God to speak for Him, who’s uncomproming message has caused thousands to fall under the conviction of sin, Keith Daniel at our house! Uh? Um, well, I had to think and pray about it for at least 2 seconds. Ok maybe I had to ask my wife if she had anything scheduled for that weekend but, Im thinking whatever it is, cancel cancel cancel oh please cancel. Praise God Jon asked me and not some other important celebrity preacher. Ok, enough background.
Friday night, my gracious wife and I left in plenty of time to pick up Keith at DFW airport by 8pm Friday. I had to welcome him dressed in my boots and hat, after all the conference name is Texas Revival isn’t it? We passed through the parking gate where I gave the man a gospel tract, he said he was a coptic christian, what? We get to the terminal and waited for a while. Finally we see people coming through the revolving door. Yep it’s the flight on which we were waiting. After seeing almost everyone pass by we didn’t see Keith. After a long pause we finally see him bolting out of the corridor from the plane. He doesn’t even get close to the revolving doors and veers to the right! Uh oh, my wife looked at me and I at her, At this point we can’t get his attention because he is behind the security glass. He dutifully disappears around a corner.
What to do? I take off going the same way but with no way of contacting him, I don’t think he has a celly. After walking a ways I turn back. My wife has not seen him yet, so we just wait at the glass. Finally after about 6 minutes he reappears. He goes through the doors and we said howdy. He explained that he didn’t know where to go. Ok I’m no rocket heart surgeon but I would think you would just follow the crowd no?
Come to think of it Keith is into evangelism not airports. We get his bags and pack them into the Sierra (my cowboy car) to head off to the sun that had already set.
We get home and settled in and basically chatted for a few minutes then said goodnight.
The next morning, he made some tea with lots of milk in it, (why)? I guess it’s like putting milk in coffee (why)? The world would be boring if it clicked around me. So we chatted awhile until he excused himself to the room to study.
We ate at about 1:00pm. We had a dish that most people look at and judge it before they taste it. Almost anyone that has eaten this dish called poppy seed chicken that my wife makes has always dipped into seconds and thirds. The taste is delightful. Keith had and loved the dish. He had salad and dinner rolls with an amazing amount of butter on the rolls with jelly. I would like to say that maybe just a tiny bit in a way that my wife helped him preach the fire from God he delivered that night by feeding his belly.
His time to speak wouldn’t be until 6:30pm. From the morning to the very last minute to leave he was preparing for the sermon. At the last minute we take off for the church. He politely asked that my wife and I don’t talk to him or each other on the way to the church. He was still needing time to think through the things he had to say that night. I praise God he brings up men that “I can say I fall way short of the mark“. His whole sermon was nothing but scripture memorized in a way to to bring out a message. Did you catch what I said? The whole sermon was nothing but memorized scripture!!! Over 100 memorized verses!
After the meeting was over there were many that wanted to talk to him. He was very kind and gracious to answer questions and pray with people. The first night came and went without fuss. The next day, Sunday would be a decisive blow to a church body who had not know preaching from the likes of Keith.
We had some light dinner and chatted some more and bid goodnight.
Sunday morning came quickly for all of us. My wife went to our church with my son and I took Keith to the main Sunday morning service at Justin Baptist. I think we arrived at about 10:15. Keith likes to stay in the back until they are ready for him. Keith likes the great hymns of the past but, he doesn’t like drums added. The plain sound of a voice is what he likes. The sermon was of the same material but not the same message. More scripture was memorized for the Sunday morning sermon. Keith has a voice that has the sound of authority. When you put the authority of the Word with the thundering voice Keith has, and the amount of preparation he devotes to one sermon, what you get is a congregation that will be divided instantly. JBC was not impressed. JBC loves the watered down gospel of the devil. They proved it by how many came back to hear Keith in the night service. From a full gymnasium/”worship center of 300 plus people to maybe 100 at night. It was even less than the 100 because most of the people that came back didn’t attend that church. I know there are Christians attending there but have you ever heard of the narrow gate?
Keith preached his heart out to just a few of us that night with the same results, many people wanting to talk and pray with him after the sermon. Even though Keith is in his 60’s many young adults follow what he is doing and pray for his ministry. About an hour after the service we left the church and officially closed down the Texas Revival Series II Conference. It was well attended by outsiders, (those that don’t attend JBC), with impressions that will last a lifetime.
We had one last dinner with Keith and we had the Speeds come over to get to know him a little better. The night of fellowship was soothing to me. How grateful I was to be able by the hand of God to have friends over for food and fellowship. I was glad that Jon finally had some time with Keith. Keith had a monumental influence in Jon’s life which of course spread out to his wife and kids.
Keith was to leave Monday morning, Jon was to pick him up. I had to go to my mundane job wishing that one day I could work full time in ministry.
Things for memories sake: Keith said that any desert is called “pudding” in Cape town Saturday morning I went to get my Bible for the counter to read and it was not there. I asked my wife, she had no clue. I reluctantly pulled out a Kjames version to read with my coffee. A little later Keith came out with my Bible and his bath robe. I said, “oh you solved the mystery of my Bible” he says to me in his British accent, “oh sorry for that, I wanted to look at what these Bibles had in them”. It was my MacArthur Bible he was holding. I told him it was ok and that I pulled out my KJames to read. Keith said, “Isn’t that good my brother, my trip here wasn’t wasted if I could say I had a part in getting you back to the King James Bible”
Keith will not commit to Reformed theology or Aminian theology. I say he is more Reformed. He will preach a reformed message but only refers to men in the “Weslyan camp to make a point. His message is reformed but his references are Weslyan. Does that make sense. I was treated to his humorous side when I found out that his next stop was in Springfield Mo. I told him he would like it there because there were a lot of Weslyans in Springfield. “They like drums”. He smiled and said it must be a good city.
Again, I thank my Lord for allowing me a peek into a no compromising life of the evangelist Keith Daniel. I didn’t get any pictures of him and my family but his memory is etched on my mind.

Caught in the Act Sunday Sodomy

I was thinking about the phrase "caught in the act". It is easy a phrase that everyone has heard. It is a phrase that is always used in the negative sense. I was thinking about who this could be linked to in the spiritual sense. When I first thought about it, the picture I thought of was those who proclaim Christianity but are sorely lacking any knowledge of who "I Am" is. When the day comes to "cash in", those people will find out about the most egrigious error of their life. The "cash in" will turn into the realization of the utter debt to Christ. A debt so vast, it will take eternity just to come up short again. These people will be caught in the act of playing christian, playing church, playing God. Caught in the act will net them eternity with satan who is the god of their church, their christianity, their god.
This weekend though brought my attention not only to those false converts above but also the sodomites who claim Christ for themselves. Sunday was not quite right. Jon and I took off to the LGBT parade. The LGBT initials stand for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual. Thos terms are all a perversion from the normal perversion of normal sinners. Whatever normal is, it's not any of those terms.
We met up with some other Christians who love to witness and hold up signs. I don't like the signage thing unless you have to be in a place where you can't talk to anyone. Only then will I hold up a sign, a very specific sign. I don't even know what kind of sign it would be.
We get there about 2 oclock, just in time to set up. We changed up the place to do open air and decided to get right in their kitchen. We were within 50 feet of the master of ceremony. We were open airing right down their throat! One lady decided she was going to complain to the cops about ruining the parade. The cops came by, she complained, the told her we had the right to be there and couldn't tell us to move. Jon and I looked at each other and grinned. I turned it up and open aired!
Jon did his turn then mine then his then mine. Sodomites across the street heard clearly as well as those 5 feet from us. We did open air throughout the whole parade. The sods on the floats would stare at us as though they could not believe what they were seeing and hearing (hearing for sure).
As I started saying these folks will be caught in the act and probably literally. They claim to attend church they claim to have a relation with God and claim many other christian things. In the end they will claim Lord Lord, didn't we...Mat 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?'
Mat 7:23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.
Jon and I talked to Thomas a church going sinner. The church he attends is not a church that is Christ's bride but is under Christ's wrath. It is a full tilt church of perversion.
Thomas was very cordial to us and listened to what we had to say. He learned he was a liar, thief and what jolted him into reality was that murder was pinned on him to by our Lord. Pray for Thomas. Jon had a conversation with the manager of the local hang out of sods on the parade route. He claimed a lot of things but in the end he was in the same position as the rich man. He needs to give up the things he wants to keep. I think his name was TJ.
Going to the parade was worth pulling our ox out of the ditch.

Blanketing the Truck Stop

Let me try to catch up on the trucking side of ministry. On the 17th I stayed home to comfort my wife who has tremendous migrains more often than not. Most of the time (if you meet her) she will have some pain in her head. Most of the time she can work through it but then there are those times that "crush" her head. At these times even touching her hair will hurt her scalp. Last week Thursday the 17th was one of those days.

Jeff Worthum who has been going out with me to the stop went out on his own. Praise the Lord, He works His infailing love in the lives of those who witness and testify of Him. Already Jeff has grown leaps in his short history of the "stop". No longer is Jeff getting laid out on rabbit ministry. I realize there are people out there that have the capacity to listen to peoples needs ad nauseum. I also know I need to be sensitive to the needs of sinners when they lay out their heart to you. Listen to what Christ instructed His Apostles to do as they went out without their Him, Mat 10:16
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. In Genesis Eve said to God, serpent beguiled me, and I did eat, Genesis; Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field. The word serpent could (ὄφις) be used as someone with sharp vision or sight. Paul speaking to the Roman church said it another way, "I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil". I would say that in the way our Lord phrased it, we need to know at least a surface knowledge of who we might come into conversation with on the street. If you look at the way Paul phrased it, he not only confirmed what our Lord said but also pushed it further. Further, meaning (my thinking), don't waste your time reading articles about cults, atheists, Catholics or whatever it may be. I think to waste your time means to use "too much" time so that there is very little left to use on the Word of God, and prayer. If I had one hour to prepare myself for witnessing, I would use maybe, possibly, ten minutes tops to learn of the cult I might have dealings. I would rather use most of my time preparing my mind by the standard set be my Lord, His Word! His Word is Truth, theirs isn't, His Word separates bone and marrow, soul and spirit, theirs doesn't, His Word prevails long after the conversation, theirs doesn't, His Word commands all men to repent, theirs can't. His Word starts with righteousness and victory, theirs starts with dead men's thoughts. As soon as you know that the person no matter who it may be is dead in all things related to Christ, it becomes no contest.

If you prepare yourself in this way you will never lose the battle of the mind. God's Word triumphs every time.

If you notice in the Word of the Lord there is nothing in scripture that tells us to read about the Pharisee, Sadduces, or Beelzebub, or whatever the darling cult of the day.

All this to say, listen to people when they are sincere but as our Lord says, Eph 5:16
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil... Knowing because we are wise as serpents but not a serpent itself because Christ said Eph 5:15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise...
How do you walk circumspectly, read God's Word, how do you keep from being the fool, pray, how do you become wise, read God's word and pray.
Back to the stop:
On the 24th I could not believe what was happening. Byron Porter had called the day prior to chat about ministry things and said he would come to the "stop" the next night. Not only that, he said he would bring a friend, David, who he had met from the church he attends. Think about it, approx. 4 weeks or more ago I was doing the Lone Ranger thing, now here were 4 well seasoned street evangelists ready to do the Lords work. I'm still amazed at what Christ does in the hearts of a few.

I have slept since that time so I have a vague memory as to who talked to whom. I know Byron talked to a man that took up most of his time. David had most of the conversations as though he had been there many times. Jeff had a few conversations and I had one with my first atheist; Barbara.

The biggest testimony though is that we covered at least 80% of the stop with conversation and tracting. Incredible eh?

I don't have any pics to look at for this blog. Maybe next time.

Fire Pit Truck or Saleem, Fire Pit Truck or Saleem

Here it is Friday night and not much to write so far. On Thursday I was suppose to celebrate with my son Caleb the removal of his braces after 2 years. I had planned on going home to help him gobble down a pizza. My plans seem to always change. The caps for my rotten teeth arrived at the dentist. They called me to ask if I would go in to have them installed. With hesitation I said I would. Did I say rotten? All this to to say I arrived home with a sore dead mouth. I couldn't eat pizza with my son and I had to bow out of my Thursday truck stop night. Did I say sore, you bet. This guy to the right has teeth just like mine so you don't have to imagine the rotteness of my teeth.
Again the Lord Jesus Christ works everything for his glory and will not share His glory with anyone. Did I say it's Friday night? Yes it's Friday night and My sovereign Lord had plans for a man named Saleem.

I arrived at the truck stop tonight because of the work done on my teeth yesterday. I arrived at about 10 after 7. Once I parked I spotted a truck with an open rear door and a small bar b q with the coals on fire. Not to break with my pattern on arrival, I prayed for divine appointments with plans in my head to talk to the trucker with the fire pit on fire. After praying, I get out, put my cowboy hat on, get my tracts, check for my keys, then locked the door and I'm off to the fire pit truck.

As I start walking toward the truck a man was walking toward me. I hand the man a tract and he hesitated, (oh no I'm thinking). Have you ever heard the old saying? He who hesitates gets the gospel. I'm still thinking about the fire pit truck when I told the man, "it's a gospel tract", have you ever heard the gospel? He says "no". When he said no, I thought, I'll get to the fire pit truck later. Saleem a Muslim entered my life. I had no plans of talking to him or giving him any part of my time. Did I say that my plans seem to always change? I did, right? My Lord wanted me to talk to Saleem not the fire pit truck man. So there I was talking to Saleem about the Law. He understood the Law but did not believe anything about Christ. Unlike the mormons and JW's who are trained in Christianese to trip you up, most Muslims are not trained that way.

You need to understand that the Muslim mindset is not interested in converting the non Muslim. They want to conquer with the sword by taking your head from your body. I realize not all of them use the sword but they have no interest in converting you unless you go to them.

So when I talk about God, my Saviour, without naming the name of Jesus, the Muslim talks about a god with some of the same attributes of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. But know this; Unless the Muslim Saleem talks about God as Christ who came in the flesh, then it's not the
God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, it's satan Saleem is referring.
As much as it seems the Muslim, Saleem is talking about God Himself, it is only a god of their imagination. This puts them under the law like any other sinner, transgressors of the Law. The Muslim needs the Saviour Jesus Christ to be converted from Islam to Christianity. They need to repent, turn to Christ and give up everything they know about life. Islam is their life, so they must give up anything that reeks of Islamic belief.

Still thinking about the fire pit truck I noticed my friend Jeff and a good friend of his, John getting out of their truck. Praise God, He sent help. About 10 minutes later we were in Noah's territory, RAIN. A hard windy rain came in torrents. I lost track of Jeff while Saleem and I ran to McDonald's for cover. That's the first time my cowboy hat took on rain. Not to be long winded, Saleem and I parted after some more conversation about the Trinity. I think if anything happened in the flesh it was that Saleem met a Christian who was not backing down from his beliefs and was able to back up what he said. We parted with a handshake and a smile.

Saleem was as hard stony ground hearer as they come. Now someone needs to step up and keep tilling his ground with a sharp plowshare.

Mar 4:5
"Other {seed} fell on the rocky {ground} where it did not have much soil; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of soil.

Friends in Christ are Gold to the Soul

Jeff to the right is kinda new in the faith. He like many of the saints is working out his salvation in the Lord.
Phl 2:12
So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;

Jeff is ready to obey a little commandment our Lord left us before His acsension to Heaven:

Mat 28:19
"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit...

This is a call to all saints. If Christ be the Groom then we must be the bride, right? If this is true then we should be opening our mouths to warn people about the wrath to come and salvation in Jesus Christ.

So, all this to say is that Jeff is another nugget of gold to my soul as the rest of my like minded witnesses I know. Men who have made a decision to proclaim Christ as often as we can.

Jeff went out again to the truck stop and was glad he did. Last week he fell into the trap laid out for rabbits. This week he witnessed to Anthony and Brian. Both he said were, to say the least, convicted and contrite. Covering the whole Gospel Jeff had great and gratifying conversations with these men.

I spoke with Benjamin, David, and Chester. Benjamin was polite to hold tight until I was done telling him about Christ. David was from the mighty Assemblies of God denomination. Hate to admite it but this was a conversation that I had to end at the Law. This man had so much pride and self righteousness that the word salvation was just another term like mowing the lawn. He admitted to lying but not much more. After telling him he was guilty in all points according to Christ, I asked him to read 1 John and bid him good bye.

Chester was my man for the hour. He was hardened, leathery, and crotchety. Kinda like the man to the left only with a tatoo on his neck he wished he didn't have. Chester claimed to have read his Bible 3 times through. Maybe he did. He said the last time he attended a church was when he was a teen. He has driven a truck for 20 years. Chester didn't know the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. I let Chester know with vivid words that without Christ his eternal fate would be hell. I took him through the Law, then to the Cross. Again he would try to tell me he sought God. I pulled out my Bible to show him Romans 3:10 and down.

RUGS; there is none righteous...none who understands...none who is good...none who seeks for God. Pointing out that none is zero, notha, nothing, zippo. Toward the end Chester says he prays. I couldn't let it go, God's word must be told, even if it hurts. I turned to:
Jhn 9:31
"We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him.

Jhn 9:32
"Since the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind.

Do you see this, do you understand this? Just as it has not been heard "anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind", "God does not hear the sinner".

Pro 10:32
The lips of the righteous bring forth what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverted.

How does God answer the wicked man if he calls out to God? I don't know in light of these verses. But God is just and He will answer those He has called to Himself as the publican called out to Christ.
Luk 18:13
And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.

Chester at the end of our conversation said he used to call on a preacher while on the road. He said he would ask his preacher questions and to pray for him. Chester said that that preacher is dead. Chester said also that maybe I could be like the preacher he called. I told him Chester, maybe I can. You better be ready for answers you may not like. I would never give you fluff to feel good about yourself.

Chester was convicted, he said thank you for taking time to talk with him. God is working on Chester and I hope I get to see him in Heaven.

1Cr 15:58 Another way of saying it: My mother sent wrote this one to me. I needed it.
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and steady, always enthusiastic about the Lord's work, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.

Blood Tracts

This is the tract I hand out most of the time, the blood tract as it's called in certain circles. As you see it's the theme from the Red Cross blood drive. That's why I like it. It's not offensive, not too gimmicky, maybe a 3 out of 21 on the gimmicky scale. The sinners that most willingly take these tracts consider themselves to be good people. In their minds any thing that will possibly make them feel good about themselves is something worth taking: Even a gospel tract.
The reactions of some are "thank you", "I don't need one I'm a Christian", "I gave already", to no comment at all. Most people I hand this to, I will say, "it's a gospel tract". I hand it to them as though I'm giving back something I took from them. The statement I use when handing it out is "here you go". I have given up the statement "did you get one of these? or "would you like one of these?" Those last two statements are garaunteed to cause one to ponder " post trib, pre trip, lapsarian, 10-20 toes on the woman that rides the beast scenario. If you want to give tracts away just say "here you go, this is a gospel tract". Can you say it "here you go..., I knew you could. At any one time when I have time I will give 3 or more. When there are groups of people I'll hand out about 10 or more to 2 or 3 of them in the group. Hopefully you are asking why give out more tracts than the number of people? Good question. Great question. Fantastic question! Check this out, I noticed if I give one tract to one person who doesn't want the tract then the next thing that will happen is the boapip resolution. You hand it, they see it, they throw it down, you see it, you resolve to "bend over and pick it up" to use it again. I know this doesn't happen most of the time. If someone is going to throw the tract to the ground it's easier on their conscience to throw 1 to the ground than 3 or more. One is not littering, 3 or more becomes littering and more obvious to others if they decide to boapip you. I for one am not going to be boapiped by anyone. Now you still might say, "what a waste! No my honest good brother friend, it's not a waste. Think about it. At this point the target sinner has more than one tract in their possession, not wanting to boapip you they will put it in their pocket, or, or, or giiiiiiive it to a friend. Huh!!!!!! I see it over and over. The friend says "what's that?" Now the friend will be willing to befriend the other with a tract. Do you see the genius of this thought? I don't think you do. Think about it again. "Friend giving a tract to a friend" Can you see it, viola! Friendship evangelism<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>>>><>>><><><><><<>
Besides why are youuuuuu trying to conserve tracts? To give them out after you have that last heart attack? To give them out only to JW's! Cmon, don't be tight, give them out tonight.

1Cr 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Now read my truck stop update above this blog
please. Our Lord is working there too.

Truck Stop Newbie

Jeff Wurtham (not sure about spelling) went out with me to the Pilot truck stop Thursday night. It started out by him coming to my house a little late but still in fine time. As I opened the garage door drops of rain started coming down. By the time we hit 170 it was flood type rain. My mind was at ease because I knew Jeff needed to talk. We arrived at the truck stop only to sit and wait for the downpour to stop. About 40 minutes later it did. Jeff I loved our chat. I told Jeff who has the ability to witness to anyone. I gave him the "big skinny" of what to watch out for and how to approach the trucks. Just little tid bits to be more fortunate out there.
I told Jeff I would be stopping at the truck I pointed to because I noticed the trucker looking at us. I told Jeff the plan and he went on. The first guy I talked to lasted 40 minutes. By the time I caught up with Jeff, he was talking with a trucker. The trucker was inside his cab, Jeff looking in. Instead of going over there I took off to other trucks. I found a guy who probably, maybe, possibly wanted to shrink and die once he started to listen to me.
He was established with his family in a Presbyterian church in SC somewhere. I asked him after I chit chatted if he knew the Gospel. He didn't. I told him that I didn't know his heart and to allow me to explain it to him. He said ok. As soon as I asked him about the dreaded 7th commandment his whole complexion changed. He started out as someone sure about himself then turned to slumped shoulders and looking down a bit. The 7th hit him hard, especially telling him that not only is the act of the 7th wrong but the looking and the pattern of induldging in those things of pictures. Not sure though that my judgment is right but it can't be far off.
Again after getting to know the man better than most would and taling to him in far more candid language than most, I begin unpacking the love of the Saviour Jesus Christ. Under His pain and suffering we can approach the throne of God if we repent turn to Him forsake all that we know and do now to follow Him. Leave no drop of sin behind to meddle in your relationship with Him because Christ left no drop of His precious blood for you.
I left the man after about 30 minutes of conversation to meet up with Jeff. Jeff was still talking with the same man. I think Jeff should have watched the travel channel before leaving his house becuase he was being led down these things called rabbit trails. Rabbit trails lead to one place only, exhaustion. Poor Jeff, he talked to a hard one.

Great words from Christ:
10On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, 11and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. 12When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” 13Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
14Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, “There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath.”
15The Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? 16Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
17When he said this, all his opponents were humiliated, but the people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing.

Catching up

Last week a couple of us went to the Paul McCartney concert. It was held at the now famous Cowboy stadium arena. I for one am proud of what Jerry Jones did for us. He raised 1.5 billion dollars to gather people several times throughout the year so that we could gather together for our witnessing events. Incredible! Jerry we appreciate it.
Back at the Paul concert, Jerry was able to pull in about 60 thousand people to hear one man sing catchy songs.
You can see here that Pual is an up and comer. He looks like he should be doing grandpa things unless rock concerts are grandpa things.
Paul at the least is agnostic if not atheistic. Paul is a sinner that will answer one night to perfect all wise God. He will understand that all the work he did to entertain people to persuade people was nothing but a boat load of pigeon poop at most. The creator Jesus Christ who has given the very clothes Paul wears, the guitar he plays, and his mind, Christ gave it to him to praise Him and glorify Him. Paul chooses instead to glorify himself, to bring glory to himself, therefor removing the crown of glory from Christ's brow to put it on himself; blasphemy! Blasphemy while persuading others to do the same. God has given him and millions like him over to themselves in their own destruction.
Read Romans 1:16 to the end.
Now for the short part. While Tom was doing an open air sermon, I started to talk to an Iranian named Ali. Ali was very closed to say the least. Right from the start of our conversation though Ali said he had read the Bible 3 times. I asked what he didn't like about it. That question was the focus of our approx. hour and a half conversation with good part of it with Tom.
Ali hated the fact of why people die in so many ways while God "sits back and says, so what?"
Ali also knew that alah was not the right way to believe. Ali had lot's of questions outside the above one but it just came back to "why".
I went through the Law and the Cross. I contridicted things he said by showing him what Christ said in the scriptures. Ali said he searched for God, I pointed to Romans 3:10 +.
I showed him what Chist's main focus was after the tower of Siloam fell. Luke 13 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
Ali showed all kinds of evidence to the flesh of repentance. Ali had tears coming down twice in our chat. We be pleaded with him to read these things again to read 1 John more than once. We told him Christ would not hear his prayers but somehow would hear his cries for mercy for God to save him from his sin.
Pray for Ali to be born again.

As you know by know I make it part of my week to go out to the Pilot truck stop at i35 and 170. (I live in Keller Texas). This is where over 300 tractor trailers park every night of the week. For the past 3 weeks I havn't written anything about my ventures. Let me catch up from the last 3 weeks. Again I put names in here with notes about each for my edification and rememberance. I don't like to forget those I talk to but I must admit I can't record everyone.

Emmit was sitting in a patio chair outside his rig. I approached him with my tract to say here you go Im giving these gospel tracts away. Emmit hesitated (great start) after looking at the tract when I asked him if he went to church anywhere. Not as much as he would like was his answer. After a few more questions leading into the gospel, I asked what he knew about God. He says something like, do you know God has 99 attibutes...

Emmit took off like a missle as though he knew what he was talking about, he didn't. After surrounding my argument with "trying to be righteous is like taking a gun without a scope and hitting an aspirin 1000 yards away". I asked Emmit if he could accomplish that. No he nodded.

Emmit understood after 20 minutes what a sinner he was and that if God were to come today he would be going to hell. He also understood the importance of repentence, trust in Christ alone for his sins to be expiated. Emmit thanked me, so off to another truck I went.

I helped a guy park his rig by hand signals. Drivers can do a good job on their own but parking can be easier if someone spots the driver's trailer end for him to make sure he parks between the trucks without hitting them. After 5 minutes of parking I felt like I "earned the right" (Joke, ha ha) to talk to Tim. I don't earn anything, Christ earned everything by creating everything, things seen and not seen He created all things. Christ gave me the right to talk to whomever I want about the gospel. Tim was a heavy set man, big, large man, oh very big man. I held up my tract for him to take so he took it. I found out he used to attend church but not anymore. In short Tim said he was a "backslider" *&&*(^, sorry that was me choking up a huge one after I spelled backslider.
  • What do say now
  • Can't let it get away
  • He's a friendly fellow
  • I can't hurt his feelings can I?
  • I need to stay relevant

Nevertheless, the gospel has teeth and Tim must not hear only squishy mushy things. He must hear the full counsel of the gospel. I told him there was no such thing as backsliding out of being a Christian. Christ saves to the uttermost. All that the Father has given His Son, He loses none of them. Christ doesn't redeem then unredeem, save then unsave, make just then make unjust. If He did that He would have to collect all His blood He lost on the cross. No way. Backsliding is nothing but false conversion or no conversion.

Tim was nice enough he said not to kick me off his truck. So in the end I left Tim in an uncomfortable state of agitation. He still shook my hand and said thank you. Tim knows the gospel now.

Let me skip over Gary the dog walker and a false baptist convert and Ernesta (cool name) a true false convert. Her conscience bothered her enough that she thought her paperwork was more important all of a sudden. Skip too, John and Misty. Although they claimed to be christians I asked if they were married, "not yet" was the answer to the adultery question. They sleep in the same truck spend all day together, eat together, not a good wholesome situation.

I came to the truck of Charlie and Marissa Ybarra a real married couple that didn't claim christianity. After holding up my tract to Charlie he rolled down his window to take it with a little snarl in his attitude. Praise God for Snarly people. He took the tract, I started asking if he went to church, and did he know what was on the other side after he died. After about 5 minutes of talking he asked if I would like to come in. Sure, I said. Picture this, the cab full of cigarettes, stink, rosary beads on the mirror, a strip club ad on his shirt, he was tatooed from head to whatever, a red light for a calming mood. I found out his wife, Marissa was listening to me while I was outside. So there I sit in the drivers seat, Charlie in the passenger seat, and Marissa in the back bed type of seat. Did I say it stunk? Cigarette smoke. I must say though, they never lit one up while I was in there.

I arrived at the truckstop about 7:30 pm, talked to Gary and Ernesta for about 30 minutes total. So about 8 pm I arrived at the truck of Charlie and Marissa. It was almost 11pm before I saw the clock after getting into my truck to go home. Folks, that's about 3 hours inside the cab of a truck talking to Charlie and Marissa about the gospel. Charlie had questions about his rosary beads, his tatoos, his uncle who lived like satan through the week and like an angel on Sunday. Both Charlie and Marissa were listening to everything I said about the commandments, the cross, repentance, turning from their way to Christ's way, a changed heart from a heart of stone, living for Christ alone. I told them that no priest had the power to forgive sins only Christ alone.

Before leaving, Charlie said he thought he was ready to "recieve Christ". I told him I really appreciated the attitude he had about the things I told him. But getting saved is up to Christ alone. I told him I could not tell him that he was saved or that he was not saved. I told him to get a bible (I usually have an extra one but didn't this time) and read 1 John. In there are the birth marks of a Christian, to read this several times. It's a short book. If Christ is speaking to your heart right now then the words of Christ will make sense. I told Charlie, Christ would open his eyes, ears, mind to understand His words. I said please beg him for mercy so that He would show himself to you and Marissa. He would save you if you plead with Him.

Praise God, Charlie was not even going to open his window to me at first. He cussed at me telling his wife, who the bleep is this? I didn't hear it, he told me as I was leaving he had said it. I'm just an ambassador of Jesus Christ who used to be dung. Now am useful for His kingdom.

1Cr 2:4
and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

Spritual Discernment

How bad can it get? Do you consider yourself a fool? If a man said to God "oh I'm sorry God for the murder of my wife," do you think he would go to heaven? This is the kind of question that would "trip up" many people who attend a church. It's a silly question at best but a hard question for most of today's "Christians". How bad can it get. Discernment is absent from the mind of a "Christian." I can't even get myself to write the word Christian without quotes most of the time. "Chritians" of today are not Christians! The word Christian has been diluted to include the most bizzare doctrines not found in the Scriptures.
Are you a discerning Christian? Look at the video I put of C. Peter Wagner (founder of Global harvest Ministries). Can you find at least 20 false teachings that would be listed in the scriptures under the heading of "another gospel"?
Can you connect the dots of the cult leader, Peter Wagner? Try Alaska for one connection, try California for another, does the name Ensign or Church on the Way spark any memories.
I dare you to do a search for this man Wagner. If you have any concern that you might be connected to the wrong church, beliefs, or doctrines, then you might want to start packing your bible in you bible cover with your little color pencils and leave now.
If I have more time for more info, I will do part a part 2.

Armando still in Bonds and Chains

Meet Armando, the only trucker to allow me into the cab. He lives in Minnesota he says to stay away from "friends". He has the right idea, if your friends cause you to stumble into temptation and sin. My question is, can you call them "friends"? I wouldn't, no no no I wouldn't.
Pro 18:24
A man of {too many} friends {comes} to ruin, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
But I held up my famous tract for Armando to take it. He looked at me with odd strange looks as I would if I were him. He rolls down the window and I told him I was a minister of the Lord and I am handing out Gospel tracts. "Here take it, it's yours" I said. Armando took it. I knew he didn't know too much English but enough to talk to him. After asking him if he gets to go to church anywhere he said back at home. I asked the all to familiar question, becuase I'm interested in talking points, what church do you attend? It was an Assemblies of God, one that had Spanish services. I said, oh. So we talked an little before he invited me into his truck (air condition). I told him, "Armando let's have a Bible study, ok? I took him to Matthew 5 about adultery, then the mighty 7th commandment, that's you Armando isn't it? Then I took him back to Matthew 5 about murder and then to the mighty 6th commandment. Then I took him to Revelation 21:6 wher all murderers and liars go if they pass from this life to the next without Christ. Then I led him to the cross, the sweet cross where sins are slain, and chains removed, eyes opened, and ears hear. Justification was on the plate for our Bible study.
I wasn't concerned about time, so I took my time. The only phone to ring was mine, Byron calling me back from a couple trucks ago where a mexican didn't understand enough.
After about 30 minutes of talking to him I told him I had to go. He offered me some bottled water, it was gooood. My Lord does the hard work and I get water. His yoke is easy.

Week of July 4 2009 Fire Fire Fire

Thursday was a normal truck stop night. It took me 2 hours to talk to 4 poeple. I say 4 because the fith one, Daljit Singh was convicted so quickly he had to stop the conversation. He still has my tract though. Bill, Spencer, and Sheila were all people who were all too glad to talk about the Gospel. Bill thought it didn't matter what church you attended. He thought as long as you go, you would be ok.
Spencer might be a Christian but there were so many red flags in his testimony that it caused concern in me. When I come to someone like this all I ask them is "I don't know your heart but please let me explain the Gospel just to be sure you know it". Once that happens their blood is off your hands. If they do know it then what will it hurt? It's just another member of Christ your get to know. They no longer are STRANGERS.
Shiela was walking her mutt when I gave her a tract. Sheila was all ears, distracted, but all ears.

Friday was Southlakes 4th of July celebration and my 3rd 4th of July celebration of witnessing at that location. I met up with Tim, Jeff, and Rex. Rex has been away for awhile but there he was passing out tracts. I met a guy by the name of Shaun or Sean or Shawn, one of these. Shaun had the odasity to witness to me, huh! I say it's about time someone had the ^%$^%$ to witness to me. Most men are scared of most men. Shaun laid it out. Thanks Shaun.

Saturday was Ezra day. Pick a place to read 1 John. I chose the courthouse steps in Southlake. My thinking was that in my lifetime I would not get to do this too much longer with people like our Muslim president in the Whitehouse.

So off I went to read the book of 1 John all the way thru. Many people heard some of the verses. I just look at it like this. God will bring those who he wants to hear His Gospel to those that will proclaim His Gospel. No gimmicks to try to lure hearers of the Word.
Later on in the day I met with Byron Porter my Spanish speaking compadre? Yea he speaks Spanish. We met at the legendary Bass Pro shops and drove off to Grapevine Lake to look for Mexican so he could practice on his Spanish.
The photo to the right is what we saw at the lake. You see 2 cars on fire with the first responders just arriving at the same time we did. Some people think at least one or both cars had fireworks inside. Makes sense to me. Every 4th people gather at the lake and light it up.

This of course drew an instant crowd for those looking for one. Byron wanting to try out his Spanish had several Mexicans to choose from. The guys in covered in tats standing next to us seemed like they were wanting to talk about the things of God. I pointed to Byron and Byron beamed in on my finger to talk to these guys and off we ran with it. After a few minutes of conversation one of the men said they were Mormon i.e., sinners who have rejected Christ as God and therefor reject Christ as Saviour and Lord.

After the conversation I said to Byron that if it were me I would have gotten right to the meat and asked; Do you believe that Jesus is God? Then read the scriptures that say that He is God. Anyway we left them with tracts and because they are so confident in their cult belief they left us with nothing.

After giving out severl tracts we came up on some viejas ( ladies if childbearing age who may have or may not have had children but look like they might have had children). Definition from the post exhilent ronaldus postus dictionary.

After listening to the video I have of Byron and this special encounter, Byron did a great job to show them their sins and show them what must be done to inherit the kingdom of God. Praise God that Byron is willing to learn the language to increase the opportunities to further the Kingdom of God.

After hiking back to the truck I met a man named Zack. He made the claim of being a Christian. I hope that Zack doesn't make this claim anymore unless he has repented, turned to Christ, and trusts in His mighty power to save the sinner. Zack if you read this and it sounds as though I am harsh and divisive I will make my defense and say it's the ultimate of love through Gods saving grace He has given me. By my remarks, I am giving you objective warning signs from my observation. Your girlfriend wouldn't talk to you like this, your mother or father the same probably. I am outside your circle of friends who can say with all confidence that I love you. The Gospel message is Love. Christ is Love. The message of the Gospel is about Christ. Zack I am giving you the greatest news any man will hear. It's this, you will perish in your sin, period.
Read Revelation 21/8. We established that you failed every commandment, 10 of 10. God will judge you in righteousness through His commandments. I only made it clear to you. This messenger loves you Zack. Beg Him for mercy, fall on your knees, leave all behind to follow Him. This isn't a surgar coated message from a mega church "pastor". Test what I've said through the scriptures, don't trust what I say alone. Christ is all in all. He alone can forgive sin.

I will try to do a word study on the word "had" as it appears in the New American Standard Bible pertaining to John:4:4. Scripture says: "And He [had] to pass through aSamaria".

I thought it interesting that Paul said that he took every thought captive. Our Lord did one better, he took every step he ever took here on earth captive. I think He knew exactly how much time it would take Him to get to any destination. Yes I think so. He never willy nilly went somewhere just to go there. He always had a reason and a time to do it. He had no time to waste.

My thought includes the John 4:4 passage "and He [had to]...Christ had to do many things throughout His life on earth at the exact moment or He would have missed certain people in certain parts of the day or night to Proclaim Himself (the Gospel).

Here in this passage Christ [had] to meet an adultress Samaritan. He had to be at the Jacobs well at the same time she came from the city to get water. So the text says ...and He had...

Take a look at a partial definition from Strong's Greek.

Strong's Greek #1163
1163 [dei /die/] v. Third person singular active present of 1210; TDNT 2:21; TDNTA 140; GK 1256; 106 occurrences; AV translates as “must” 58 times, “ought” 31 times, “must needs” five times, “should” four times, it is necessary, there is need of, it behooves, is right and proper. 1c necessity in reference to what is required to attain some end.

All this to say one thing. I would pray that Christ would prick my conscience the same way. That I would have such a passion for souls, my mind would think in such a way as the "1c" definition.

I would also pray that one day He would grant me a way to teach people how to evangelize.

One more prayer, that He would allow me to work in full time ministry within evangelism.

My friend and brother in Christ Tom Sadowski two Thursdays ago came out with me. I could say Tom [had] wanted to come out with me. He had a long chat with a man who was lost as far as we could tell. Going to the truck stop is not a serene place to minister to the sinner. Although there are plenty of lost people it takes some ingnorance to minister there. I say ignorance in the sense of, one having to ingore the obvious.

The obvious would be to ignore the urine smell. When a driver has filled to capacity the "pee jug" he will pour it out on the pavement close to his truck. If the jug is not full then they might need to pee quickly after parking the truck. Next you need to ignore the smell of the deisel. Trucks are left running all night if they aren't using "Idleair". Also you need to ignore the noise. You'll get out of there with a scratchy throat after talking for a few hours. Then the thing you can't get away from is the heat. It gets hot everywhere, but it gets hotter there next to the trucks that are left running while the exhaust is in your face, oh, yes, you do breath the exhaust.
You can't be a Todd Friel type of man, you know, always worried about germs.
Last Thursady was a gorgeous day to breath in the odors, take in the noise, and best of all have predetermined by God conversations. Plenty of people to talk to including those who named His name and could not explain Him.

I hope I can get others to think the same way as our Lord "He had to go to Samaria.
I hope I can get myself to think the same way our Lord thought about His message to the lost.

Pilot Truck Stop Last Night with My Son

Last night was so sweet, it had to be of Christ and His mercy to those I had a predetermined conversation. Again and again my expectation are small about the way things will unfold. But God in His determination to have His Gospel delivered to the exact people He had chosen delivered a knock out blow to my fleshly mind.

I keep pinching myself in a way because I would have never thought Christ would choose me to deliver such an important precise message as is the Gospel. The Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. Repentance and trust in Him, knowing the law, what sin is, and the message of the cross. This brings about true conversion.

Rom 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

If you change the message you change the One who
brought it, Jesus Christ. If you change the message you make it powerless to change anything.
The message to all three of these gentlemen is that they are doomed without salvation of Jesus Christ.
Their "strivings" will never be good enough. Imagine that. I talked to 3 different men and all of them, a sinner and his own beliefs, a JW with baggage, and a Hindu. What a night. All three men had the same belief within different religions, the sin of unbelief.
They all tried to be "good". They all sought to do the "right thing". In the end all our righteousness is filthy rags to God. No matter whose religion, it comes down to how good can I be to attain "heaven".
They all want the same thing, heaven. They just don't want God to be there. There own reasoning of what heaven should be is one big giant tent of "good people". Their god would overlook their sins of lying, stealing, adultery, coveting, idolatry. That's the god they worship and that's the god that will drag them to hell.
Don't play with the time God has given you. Consider it His mercy on your soul. Don't waste time, now is the time for Salvation, you don't know what tomorrow will bring, your days are numbered.
You just don't know what number is yours.

Back from Fort Benning

Just a change of subject type to let all my readers know that my son who is single is back from Fort Benning, GA.
We flew to Georgia, rented a car, drove 2 hours to the Fort Benning area to see my son graduate from basic, and advanced training.

To the left is my sweet lovely P31 wife, Daniel, and Caleb. Remember Daniel is single. Besides being single he is not married either.

We had a good time helping him settle down in the civilian world by eating real world food and sleeping until the sun came up. Now he will continue his job at the Fort Worth jail, go to school and possibly take flight lessons from someone who attends our church. I think the next biggest thing besides going through boot camp and surviving is the weight he lost. About 80 lbs. He is holding at 200lbs and looks good.

He alson loves to attend the church Tommy Nelson pastors, Denton Bible Church.

I couldn't sign off without writing about his baptism. Yes he finally took the plunge. As a boot camp enlisted soldier, perspective becomes clear. I don't know what the base chaplain talked about but, whatever it was, my son made the clear decision to obey Christ our Lord by getting baptized.
He understands the Gospel and is working out his salvation. With his dad around he is also examining himself in light of the scriptures.
I praise my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for His mercy on both my son and me. There are many fathers who are saved with sons that live for the devil. Praise Him who saves to the uttermost. It is Christ, it is God, it is we who bow low before Him.

More Trucks More Conversations More Preaching

It's been a while since my last entry. While I started out blogging to keep names in memory and pray for salvation for so many that are perishing, there is the factor of time. I say make more time to witness and less time to blog. That is what I did. The couple hours I put into blogging have gone into the bigger picture of witnessing. I have to let go of the temporal things to do the more important thing for my Lord Jesus Christ.

So for now unless something else changes, I will not blog as much. I'll try to keep it up as long as possible updates to a few things that I do but not nearly everything I do in witnessing/evangelism.
Let me recap on the past week only for now. Truck stop ministry is still going. Thursday I talked to a couple guys but handed out many more tracts. Pray that the Lord sees fit to keep the door open for His Gospel to penetrate the almost meaningless lives of truckers. Think about it. each day they drive for hours only to arrive at a truck stop greeted by nobody without the company of wives, children, parents, friends, or known geography. Just about anywhere they go they are strangers. At the stop they eat, take a shower, read, watch tv, or talk to other truckers.

The next morning they do the same thing until arriving at their destination only to pick up another load to do the same thing. If the trucker has true hope in Christ, maybe it's more tolerating to bear up. If too a trucker were a Christian they could start their own evangelism ministry. Most don't and most won't. Sinners on the other hand have no Hope for eternal things and put all their hope into temporal things each day and night.

So I think when someone like me shows up at their door holding out a tract it's perfectly ok to get strange looks. Strange looks haven't killed anyone that I know. Give me all that the looks imaginable but also give me 5 minutes of your time.
For now I still plug along once a week as much as I can to talk to as many truckers as possible and even some prostitutes. Praise God for His plan of redemption, not my own.

This Saturday, Memorial day weekend 3 of us went to the Grassy Knoll. Chad, John of TLC Ministries, my mother (who came to interpret) and I trekked to Dealey Plaza Historic District. We preached from a platform just to the left of where the man is walking up the "grassy knoll".
So as people walked behind us and on the sidewalk to the right the Gospel message of our Lords sermon from Matthew Chapter 5 was clearly heard.

The obective: to read word for word from the Scriptures (Word of God), the Sermon on the Mount. The purpose: this is how our Lord decided to save those who are perishing, through the hearing of His Word alone. Evangelism/witnessing. The method: while one of us read and preached, the others would pass out tracts and witness. The method we use is vulgar to some churches so much so that if it were discovered by the leadership, a mark would be placed next to your name called "special". So special that you suddenly find yourself free from any invitations to be a teacher, deacon, or elder.

Being special has it's benefits: freedom. Now I have the freedom preach God's word anywhere the law allows and almost nowhere some churches allow.

To the left is Chad, Ron, and Jon (TLC). My mom took the picture, Thank you mom.

Soon after this picture was taken we headed back to the truck. On the way there while walking slowly with my mom I saw a Mexican (maybe illeagal) sweeping just to the side of an open garage like door leading into a restaruant. I used my vast deep vocabulary of Spanish as we approached him (Tony) and said "come esta"?

He Tony replied "muy bien gracias" in a very friendly tone. Almost at the same time my mom asked him something about church. Can you say "divine appointment?" In short, after a 30 minute conversation with my mom's studering Spanish at times, we bid him fairwell. I gave him a Spanish Bible and told him where to read by marking it out. Pray that God has mercy on Tony's soul like He did with mine and my mothers'.
That's my beautiful mother evangelist and Tony the sinner. Do you see his new Bible he's holding?
I wonder if there are any good sound Methodist churches in our area. Just curious>

Jeff Pittman in the Spotlight

I know a guy who was fed up with doing nothing for the Lord. Although he thought it, nothing was not the word for the fed up part. Everyone does something I think. No one does nothing I hope. But this guy thought he should be opening his mouth to proclaim the Gospel more often.

Jeff Pittman from 1st Baptist Church in Justin Texas. Jeff is the kind of guy who likes to stay under the radar. Even when Jeff does open airs, he will never get "in your kitchen". Now how often do you hear a preacher that never gets in your kitchen while telling you that ****************hell

awaits you without repentance.

Ok this is what I know about Jeff: He is older than me, about 50ish, he lives in Justin, works for a pipeline, gas, oil type of company that gives him a nice truck to drive. Has a wife, and a daughter. I should know his wifes name but I forgot. But I did meet his daughter today. She was given the task to deliver my camera that Crawford borrowed and did not return. Jeff's daughters name is Sabre (sorta). I know I slaughtered that one. But here is Father and daughter in several pics: Do you see the resemblance. I don't. I think Jeff was adopted.
The first upper left pic Jeff is witnessing to someone elses daughter in Florida near the entrance of the Aquarium in Tampa. The 2nd upper right he is open airing I think at the recent Fort Worth Arts Fest. Bottom left, more witnessing, and bottom right his daughter at the Wal Mart parking lot in Roanoke Texas.
Jeff will never be seen front and center until now. But now that I have seen some of Jeff's family I thought why not write some little tid bit on Jeff Pittman, evangelist, preacher, elder, minister, dad, and husband.

Allen and Calvin Two Truckers Two Fates

Back at the truck stop on Thursday night the Lord had devine appointments for me. Coming up on a man who was headed for McDonalds after a long day on the road, I met with Calvin.

Sometimes I think that because someone can't explain the Gospel I think they are not saved. It's true. Think about it. If you hired a carpenter to build a simple box so you could use it to stand on, and the carpenter came back to you with a box that had the nails or screw sticking out. You also notice the box has closer shape to a parallelagram than a square. Then to top it off the carpenter gives you the invoice, then you look at him like he's ready to say "just joking" but you know he's serious.

Another example: a plumber comes to your house to fix a simple leak. You let him in because he has all the right looking tools, and he's honest looking. You show him the leak and you leave him alone to do the work. An hour later he comes out with the invoice and you say lets go look at it. You see that he's done something but the leak is still there! You look on his face to make sure he's not joking, and he isn't!
Both scenarios are not jokes, they really happen! Here is the bold truth to both of them, scenario one says he's a carpenter. But in reality he is a liar, and certainly not a carpenter, but closer to a thief.
Scenario 2 is a person that calls themself a plumber. If this man came to my house and could not perform the duties of a plumber, I would call him a liar and would not pay the invoice.
The Gospel is more simple to understand than plumbing or woodworking. So if a person calls themself a Christian and could not explain the Gospel then I would have to doubt their salvation or give them a reality check.
So I don't think it's always the case someone can't explain the Gospel and their salvation is doomed, but take this scenario of Calvin.
Calvin could not explain in explicit terms the Gospel, but he related the message of the Gospel in the best way he could. As he was trying to explain what he was trying to say I was filling in what he was trying to say in Biblical terms. Calvin understood the Gospel and was possibly saved.

Allen>>>>Allen thought he was saved but wasn't. Allen couldn't even get a form of the Gospel, a shadow, an outline of the Gospel. Allen had trouble from the start.

So as our Lords divine appointment would have it, Allen now understands his depravity, and our Lords wrath on his sinful ways. Allen saw right away his sin from the 10 commandents. Then Allen saw his need for a Saviour, then what Christ our Saviour does for those that repent and trust in Him with faith, grace and mercy.

At the point they "figure it out" you know you've done your part. Leave the rest to the One who made the earth in and sky and sea and everything in them in 6 days. Leave the rest to Him who knows the number of hairs on our heads and has a name for every star. Point to the scriptures, especially 1 John. Tell them to read it as many times as they will. Tell them to cry out to God to have mercy on their souls, to open their heart and mind to understand what they read.

Allen and Calvin are two different truckers, one, possibly thorny ground, the other possibly fertile ground.

Thinking on Women in Leadership

I thought this blog was interesting in light of the Palin VP role in politics. I pulled this off another site just for my recall.
In case you might not know Golda Meir was the fourth prime minister of the State of Israel.

The Bible looks favorably on the competence of the Queen of Sheba and the legitimacy of her secular rule over her gentile nation (1 Kings 10:1-10). Such national leaders as Elizabeth I in England, Margaret Thatcher in the United Kingdom, and Golda Meir in Israel are examples of competent women who have admirably led their respective nations. It’s interesting how the latter two were both given the nickname “Iron Lady,” indicating that their mettle was uncharacteristically strong for their gender. Steely firm toughness, an essential trait for effective ruling, is typically more pronounced in men (1 Corinthians 16:13). It’s interesting how David Ben Gurion, Israel’s first prime minister, called Mrs. Meir “the only man in his cabinet.” [ii]
It is difficult to imagine a high-ranking female politician’s being able to conscientiously fulfill her priority obligations as a helpmeet to her husband and a mother to her children. Golda Meir broke off her political responsibilities for four years to stay at home and raise her two children. However, upon returning to public life, her enormous workload contributed to the collapse of her marriage in 1945.[iii]

Red Mountain Church

I found some new music to listen to and really enjoy. The CD to the left is called the The Gadsby Project. I just copied and pasted the following exerpt from their website:
Gadsby’s Hymns, published in several stages during the first half of the 19th century, is a collection of hymns from multiple writers containing songs dating back to the 17th century. Some of the 1,156 songs in this hymnal are familiar, but most of these great lyrics have simply been forgotten in the modern church. Our primary goal for this record is to reintroduce 14 of these great hymns so believers can incorporate them into public worship again. Interestingly, William Gadsby (the original compiler of the hymnal, a great preacher and hymn-writer) was against the use of instruments in public worship. This mindset aided in making many of the original tunes and melodies unknown for these hymns. There is a companion tune book for Gadsby’s Hymns, but it wasn’t published until 1927. It is very possible that these hymns have had multiple tunes and arrangements over the years. We like to believe that our small work on these hymns is a part of something much bigger, that we are simply another group of believers falling in line with generations who have gone before us, modernizing and singing these great hymns once again. The tunes that we have applied are our way of interpreting the text in our own time and place, and it is exciting to think that the tradition of putting hymns to new music is a tradition that has gone on for many generations. We hope that you love these hymns as much as we do and that you are able to sing them again in your church. One last thing: Go buy a copy of Gadsby’s Hymns. Then go buy a bunch more, and give them to all your friends. May this exceptional hymnal feed your soul the way it has fed ours.
Also you can find some of their stuff on utube along with a taste of their personalities.
If you enjoy solid food from our King and Lord Jesus Christ in the form of His Word, go and feast on the music of Red Mountain Church.
I think if I had to choose the best CD they sell and I couldn't buy but one, then I would choose "Help My Unbelief".
All the lyrics is reformed. You won't find one song that repeats the chorus over and over and over and over...
You can say these are not typical of most church songs where you'll find the lack of content made up by some kid trying his lead guitar skills on all who will suffer through it. It reminds me of a Todd Bentley false prophet concert where there was more bouncing than God's word proclaimed. Oh wait, God's word was never proclaimed, it was another gospel! sorreeeee:)'
Go check out their music at the link above. If anything it might be too folk like for you but the words are spot on.

McDonalds Sunday or 4am Wake-up

All I was thinking last Thursday was, I will be getting a call Friday morning at about 4a.m. That's fine I could do that. Go to bed a little earlier, get up, shower, coffee, and I''m out the door. Sounds easy to me and sounds easy to you, right. If that's all I had to do then life is a bowl of passion oranges just right for eating while you kick back and eat up.

God is a God of mercy and grace and justice and wrath and judgment and power and wisdom and peace and wisdom and so much more. So in serving our Lord who is all these things at the same time and is never not any of these things at all times. Im thinking that what He has called me to do is simple even in my feeble mindedness, my unbelief, my unwillingness, my unforgiveness, my wretchedness and so much more of "ness".

Thinking through these things makes for me a balance in Christ to do the work of an evangelist.

Either stay home knowing what I need to do the next day or go out to do the work I comitted to do for my Lord, proclaim His gospel to the perishing. It's His gospel that must be shouted from the roof tops, it's His gospel that must take front and center of our thoughts and actions. I know it's not like that for me at all times, especially after work when I'm am so tired. But when Thursday rolls around I need to go and do the work Christ beckones me to do.

In all human standards going to the truck stop was a miserable failure in terms of how many people I talked to and how many tracts I passed out. I took two rubberbanded stacks of tracts and gave out maybe less than 10 individaul tracts! I told a guy to read through one and it had a good message on the back, he said he would. I said the same thing to a lady walking by (not a lot lizard), then approached a truck with a husband wife team. That's it! I camped there for close to an hour I think, maybe more. The couple is pictured here. This is Eugene (he said I could call him that) and Jeannette Whaley from Virginia Beach. Both are in the "kinda" catagorie. Kinda new Christians but kinda not. They've been saved for about 3 years. They know enough to be saved and maybe know a little theology without knowing they know theology, you know?

So at this point I would say to Eugene and Jeannette to find someone to teach them more diligently the things of God. Find someone who can take the Word and exegete each and every word and line in the scriptures. The difinition of exegesis is this:
"critical explanation or interpretation of a text or portion of a text, esp. of the Bible". Very few pastor teachers lack this ability. It takes hours of study to exegete small portions of text. That's why some pastor/teachers aren't willing to do it. In fact do a study on how Paul himself exegeted scriptures. You've got to know God's word so well that if anyone like me comes along and asks you anything at all within reason, you will have an answer from God's Word not our opinion which counts for nothing in the day of judgment. Look at this text and this may be what I did Thursday night with you:
Act 18:26
and he began to speak out boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

You see, I'm not suggesting anything other than getting yourself trained in the Way of God more ACCURATELY. This should be the only goal up to the point of being teachers yourself. Know God's word with accuracy. Dissect it, meditate on it, day and night.

The text above if you read it reflects a man who was "mighty in the scriptures". If he was mighty and did not accuratley proclaim God's word then how much more do we need to do to soak in the wisdom of His word.

Thank you Eugene and Jennette for the fellowship and patience with me. Can I say it? Keep on truckin, in Christ alone.

Thanks for the offer of the Micky D's sunday, my brain and body told me it was getting late with an early day coming fast. Maybe next time. Be careful out there.
